The Resilience Project Deck
The Resilience Project is a workshop presentation I designed to help first-year college students strengthen their ability to persevere through academic and personal challenges. Drawing on research by Duckworth (2007), Masten (2018), and Frisby & Vallade (2018), this session connects the concepts of grit—perseverance and passion for long-term goals—and resilience—the capacity to adapt and recover from setbacks.
Through interactive discussion, reflection, and real-world examples, students learn to identify their persistence of effort (POE), consistency of interest (COI), and the individual, relational, and community supports that sustain academic success. The project blends motivational design with evidence-based instruction to encourage learners to see setbacks not as barriers, but as part of their growth story.
Improving Retention & Persistence for
TRIO-SSS Deck
This presentation focused on enhancing student retention and success through the lens of TRIO and Student Support Services.
The project outlined actionable approaches for mentoring, academic coaching, and early intervention aligning with TRIO’s mission to increase persistence and graduation rates among students with academic or socioeconomic barriers. Designed with a balance of data insight and motivational storytelling, the deck highlights how structured support networks can transform access into achievement.
Elevating Training Through Structure, Clarity, and Engagement
This two-part video series was designed to support flight attendant instructors in developing and refining their instructional practice. The first video introduced new lesson plan formats, focusing on aligning objectives, activities, and assessments for consistency across training programs. The second video emphasized key lesson delivery points—how to maintain engagement, reinforce safety standards, and create a confident learning environment.
Together, the series provided a clear framework for effective lesson design and facilitation, helping instructors deliver standardized, high-quality learning experiences across recurrent and new-hire training.
